Transforming Executive Functioning Support
The KindleFig approach is rooted in encouragement, sustainable change, and a commitment to making my clients’ lives easier. I know that executive functioning skills are not “one-size-fits-all,” which is why I have dedicated my career to customizing these essential tools for each client individually.
Many of my clients have spent years, even decades of their lives trying to force themselves to fit the neurotypical strategies that have worked wonders for their peers, parents, teachers, or bosses. Despite being bright and full of high-achieving potential, they find themselves burnt out, frustrated, and defeated after another failed attempt at a planner, or another well-meaning loved one encourages them to “just do it”.
If this feels like you, you are not broken, hopeless, or doomed to a life of chaos and procrastination! Those strategies don’t work for you because they weren’t made for you! The strengths and qualities that make you uniquely you are the key to outfitting your toolbox with the skills you need to achieve your goals with more ease, greater consistency, and long-lasting success.
About Emily
As a young student, I was “smart but scattered.” School felt easy for me at first, but as my workload increased and I took on more advanced classes, I started to experience academic stress. I struggled with my organization and time management, but I avoided asking for help. It wasn’t until high school that I finally realized what a wonderful resource it was to have people I trusted to support me on the road to success.
In college, I founded an academic coaching program with the aim of supporting a few sorority sisters with particularly heavy course loads. What started as a small study group among friends grew into a campus-wide network of tutors and resources for students. I developed a love for teaching executive functioning skills for studying, managing time, organization, note-taking, and stress management. After college, I gained experience as a learning specialist, serving a wide caseload of students.
I was so lucky to have had the opportunity and support to learn these skills early on, and I am passionate about giving my clients the same chance to fill their toolboxes with the personalized strategies to succeed with less stress. The best tools are those that work with your brain rather than against it. Your brain does not need fixing, your toolbox just needs updating! Coaching is a trusted space to develop these skills without fear of judgement or criticism.
